Please read these terms before using SriGuide (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by them.

1. About The Site

The Site is a free, independently maintained travel information resource about Sri Lanka. It is operated as a personal project, initiated under ‘Camino’, an online startup foundation focused on tourism sector in Sri Lanka and is not a commercial entity. The Site is not affiliated with any government, tourism authority, travel agency, or commercial entity.

2. Accuracy of Information

The content on the Site is provided in good faith and based on research and available information at the time of writing. However:

Travel information changes - entry requirements, prices, transport schedules, business hours, and local conditions can change without notice.
Some pages on the Site are incomplete or still being developed.
Information here should be treated as a starting point for your research, not as a definitive or authoritative source.

We are actively working on verifying every fact included in the Site. However, You are responsible for verifying all critical information — including visa and ETA requirements, health and safety advisories, entry restrictions, and transport options from official government and authoritative sources before travel.

The Site accepts no liability for decisions made based on information found here, or for any loss, injury, inconvenience, or expense arising from such decisions.

3. Official Sources

For matters that affect your safety or legal status, always consult official sources, including:

Sri Lanka ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization): Apply only via the official Sri Lanka government portal. Be aware that third-party broker sites exist which impersonate the official service and may charge unnecessary fees.
Health and vaccinations: Consult your country’s official travel health authority or a qualified medical professional.
Travel advisories: Check your government’s official foreign travel advice for Sri Lanka.

4. External Links

The Site contains links to external websites — including app stores, government portals, and third-party services. These links are provided for convenience and informational purposes only.

The Site has no control over the content, accuracy, or practices of external sites.
Inclusion of a link does not constitute endorsement of the linked site or its content.
Apps listed in the Apps section of the Site are selected based on usefulness and are not affiliated with or sponsored by the Site.

5. Feedback and Communications

By submitting feedback, questions, or other communications through the Site’s contact forms or email, you agree that:

Your submissions are voluntary and non-confidential.
The Site may use your feedback to improve the Site or its content without obligation to you.
You will not submit any content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes on the rights of others.
The Site may retain your email address for the purpose of responding to your inquiry.
You will not use the Site’s contact forms to send spam, solicitations, or commercial messages.

We use automated verification (Cloudflare Turnstile) to prevent abuse of the embedded forms. You agree not to circumvent, disable, or interfere with these protections, or to submit content using automated means. We may reject or block submissions that fail verification or appear abusive. If verification is unavailable, for example because it is blocked by your browser, you may be unable to submit the form.

We reserve the right to block or restrict access to the Site for users who repeatedly submit abusive or spam content. Further, we reserve the right to report content that are illegal, threatening, or harmful to the appropriate authorities.

We do not provide a direct support service for travel planning. While we may respond to inquiries, we cannot guarantee a response or provide personalized travel advice. Any information provided in response to inquiries is for general informational purposes only and should not be relied upon as professional advice.

6. Third-Party Services

The Site integrates the following third-party services. Their services are governed by their own terms and policies. We are not responsible for their availability or practices, and you should review their terms before using them:

ExchangeRate-API: used for the currency converter tool
OpenStreetMap: used for the maps in Trip Plans pages
Tally.so: used for feedback, contact, and testimonial forms
Cloudflare Turnstile: used for automated verification of form submissions
Resend: used for maintaining the email services related to the Site
Simple Analytics: used for privacy-respecting, anonymized traffic analytics
Buy Me a Coffee: used for voluntary financial support
GitHub: hosts the open-source repository for this project

7. Progressive Web App and Local Storage

The Site may be installed as a Progressive Web App (PWA). Certain features use your browser’s local storage to save data (such as checklist progress) on your own device. This data is stored entirely on your device and is not transmitted to any server. You can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

8. Open Source

The source code for the Site is publicly available on GitHub. It is made available under the terms of the license specified in the repository. Contributing to the project — whether through code, content, or feedback is voluntary and subject to the contribution guidelines in the repository.

9. No Commercial Relationship

The Site contains no advertising.
The Site contains no affiliate or referral links.
No payment is required to access any content on the Site.
Financial contributions via Buy Me a Coffee are entirely voluntary and confer no rights, guarantees, or preferential treatment.

10. Listings & Recommendations

Services, apps, and operators mentioned on this site are included at our sole discretion. Inclusion is not guaranteed, purchased, or negotiated — all listings are subject to the same vetting criteria regardless of how they were brought to our attention.

We reserve the right to add, remove, or update any listing at any time without notice. Removal does not imply wrongdoing on the part of the operator — services change, and our standards are applied on an ongoing basis.

Suggestions for inclusion are welcome but do not obligate us in any way. See our listing criteria for more details.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its contents are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator of the Site disclaims all warranties including but not limited to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator of the Site shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of — or inability to use — the Site or the information it contains.
